SS Cylinder Mould Use In paper machine

A stainless steel cylinder mould is a crucial component used in the papermaking process, specifically in the formation of paper sheets from a pulp slurry. The Cylinder mould, also known as a cylinder mould or cylinder machine, plays a significant role in shaping and draining the wet paper sheet as it progresses through the papermaking machine. Here's a description of a stainless steel cylinder mould and its functions:

1. construction and Material:
A stainless steel cylinder mould is typically made from high-quality stainless steel due to its corrosion resistance and durability. The mould is constructed as a cylindrical or slightly tapered drum, often with a hollow interior. The surface of the cylinder mould is meticulously engineered to provide the desired paper characteristics.
2. Formation of the Paper Sheet:
The cylinder mould is a key component of the paper machine's forming section. In this stage of papermaking, a mixture of paper pulp and water, known as a slurry or suspension, is introduced onto the surface of the rotating cylinder mould. As the mould rotates, the centrifugal force helps distribute the pulp evenly across its surface, creating a wet paper sheet.
3. Water drainage:
The cylinder mould is designed with a pattern of fine, specially designed drainage slots or wires that allow water to be drawn away from the pulp as it adheres to the mould's surface. The combination of gravity, centrifugal force, and the mould's drainage features helps remove excess water from the pulp, gradually forming the paper sheet.
4. Formation Control:
The surface pattern of the cylinder mould, often referred to as the mould pattern or wire pattern, influences the texture, thickness, and formation of the paper sheet. Different mould patterns can result in variations in paper properties, such as smoothness, strength, and absorbency.
5. Transfer to the Press Section:
After water drainage, the formed paper sheet is transferred from the cylinder mould to the press section of the paper machine. This transition is typically facilitated by a Felt or fabric conveyor that helps separate the paper sheet from the mould's surface without causing damage.
6. Cylinder Mould Variations:
While stainless steel cylinder moulds are common, they can also be manufactured using other materials like bronze or synthetic materials. Additionally, some modern paper machines may utilize advanced designs, such as vacuum-assisted drainage, to enhance water removal and sheet formation.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning:
Maintaining the cleanliness and smoothness of the cylinder mould surface is crucial for consistent paper quality. Regular cleaning and maintenance routines are performed to prevent pulp buildup and ensure the mould's optimal performance.
